Myself and 2 other retired old cronies, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, get together for Breakfast at local restaurants, and afterwards walk to the central park in town and play “Blitz” (A game of 31)
We were tired of running after windblown cards, and I put this together to address the issue.
It’s all pieces I had in the garage, except for the box hardware.
The “board” is red oak as well as the stand-offs. The card separators are oak drawer pulls I had extras of when I changed my garage cabinet handles. The arms are just brushed copper thin wall tubing, and the weights are solid metal drawer pulls.
The container is just a glued and nailed plywood box with a lid made from a piece of maple cutting board.
The board was stained with Pratt Lambert light oak stain.
Both the board and box were sprayed with Minwax spray Polyurethane.
Nothing fancy, but extremely useful for any card games played outdoors. Campers would love this. Old guys with two much time on their hands too!
The project kept me out of my wife’s hair for a few hours. HA!
