Just in time for Halloween.. this lighted pumpkin is made from 3/4” MDF and hand painted. The light is a single ‘nite-lite’ type which I purchased at Michael’s. This pumpkin is 10” high and 4” thick (with the 3-dimensional, protruding nose). Four pieces of MDF (5 with the nose) were cut on the scroll saw and glued together. The flat bottom enables it to sit upright on its own and sits easily on a window sill, and it would also make a great ‘nite-lite’ for a child’s dresser. This one is for my grand daughter, but two of my neighbors who drop into my shop for visits, now want me to make one for them. (ka-ching ka-ching).

Be my guest, sgtq. I borrowed the pattern from one of my neighbors who is also a scroll sawer. MDF cuts like butter on the scroll saw and requires very little sanding on the cut edges. Painting on MDF is OK, but does not accept stain well.
