This is a guitar stand that I built for my son. The sides are painted pine and the cross pieces are very cool quartersawn sycamore. If I had it to do all over again, I wouldn’t use pine. No matter how many coats of anything, it still looks like pine. But, ya gotta love that sycamore….

I need to make myself one, as my collection is rapidly expanding from all the building I’ve been doing. Needless to say, I’ve been scouting ideas for a little while. Great tip on not using pine. I think I may go for oak or maple…
