Very nice! The curly maple is gorgeous. I just finished and posted some frames that are almost identical, except I used Zebrawood and Peruvian walnut. Is it solid maple, or did you cut veneers?

Mark, I saw yours and they are beautiful. I like your efficient use of the very nice wood as well. This frame and all of my projects are solid wood. I have not done any veneer work to date but I do plan on it. Thank you for looking.

This is a great project, the curly maple pops right out at you.

It’s just in time for my project which will have drawers with curly maple veneer fronts and a patterned inlay strip around the edges. The veneer has been applied, I’ll start work on the inlay tonight.

What kind of wiping varnish did you use, and how was it applied?
