I helped my 10 year old son makes these as present for his teacher. He used White Oak with ebony stained Ash for the window bars. Although not perfect; they look great!

interesting project. What type of joinery was used, and what did you finish them with? I assume you used electric lights but wonder if you could use a tea candle or something in them as well.
