A friend of mine that works for the Border Patrol asked me if I would make him a demo of a plaque to show his boss. If his boss likes it then he wants me to make them for him. This one I made out of plywood and the plaquered I used my laser engraver to engrave the stats on. If I am asked to make some actual plaques for them I plan on using ash or popler.

What a great opportunity for you. I hope that the boss likes them.

I like the lettering that you did. Is it routed out? Some other way? I can’t really tell but, it looks very clean and precise. Nice job!

The lettering is routed out, and the coin that is inset at the bottom was a gift but these they put on all there plaques that are made. I had and still have doubts about the way it looks but it is just a demo and didn’t want to make something with hard wood and them not want me to continue to make them. Plus I’ve never been really good with stain, I can cut and put together but stain is a whole other story.

Have your say...
