Wenge (with sapwood). I think the sapwood makes a nice transition between the dark Wenge and the light corks. Finished with teak oil.
The corks are held in place with hot glue gun and mounted on plywood. I used a wood burner (Versa-Toolâ„¢ Woodburning Kit from Rockler) to customize some of the corks.
Wine bottle balancers: base angle is 40 degrees, hole is 7 inches from base. I found the base of the 4/4 Wenge much more steady than the 3/4 plywood prototype.

Nice use of the wine corks, the wood selection fits nicely. I have a bag of wine corks, I may make a trivet with them.
