I started making this at 11 am this morning and finished it at 5pm. It is a trophy that we donated to a golf fund raiser to help support 3 group homes in the town of Cowansville. It stands 20’’ tall and is 10’’ in diameter. It is from a piece of black cherry that was destined to be firewood. Many people who have seen the piece of log laying around have told me that it was rotten and not even worth burning, let alone keeping it for woodworking. Some people really need to start looking beyong using only select lumber. This is my latest chainsaw carving.
