It’s done, finally! HOORAH! :)
For those who have not been following the blog, this is my entry for ArtPrize 2011. It is the world’s largest open art competition and it happens to take place in my city of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Please visit my blog entry about it for details! If you can make it to ArtPrize in person, PLEASE VOTE! :) :)
It took about 300 hours to finish, and 150 of that (or so) was the Earth’s surface. I am super thrilled about the entire thing. The glass top just made it truly sing.
It is 4×8 and about 29 inches tall – perfect for a dining room table, which has been my vision the entire time.

This is a great accomplishment! A very functional piece of Art. Congratulation and hope you bring home the bacon. You have my vote thousand miles from there. I am sure anyway that underneath that glass lies a simple provincial house near the Pacific Coast. It is always rewarding when you accomplished something that is the most important.
Take a rest and enjoy how you will received those Wows and Ahs. Beuatiful project!

It’s been a long time coming and we’ve all been pulling for you. Just fantastic to see the final result. It appears to really have been worth the huge effort that you put into it.
Very well done. Congratulations.

I’ve got to go find the blog. Too bad I already know the ending. Just like having a good book or movie upset because someone talked too much. But in this case, it gets me to read the book so thanks a million. That is a wonderful project. Approximately how many hours are in it?
