Built the base out of Ash (Cheaper) and the top out of hard maple. The top is about 80” long and 28-1/2” wide by 2-1/2” thick.

Oh Yea another wonderful bench, just can’t get enough of these gems. The top is eye candy galore my good man. A suggestion for the draw with all the hand planes, try and lay down a piece of carpet, just for added protection in case the blade is not drawn back and will protect the sole from any unnecessary scratches. Enjoy your new work mate it came out great…BC

Ok, there’s a pile of wood I’d like to see in my shop. Terrific job!

Thanks guys

Good idea blackcherry. I put dados in the drawer bottom of the handplane drawer and separated with 1/4” poplar to ensure the planes would not slam into one another as well.

Kobi, that is a wonderful bench and will serve you well for the rest of your days.

Sham,

I used the plans from finewoodworking Matts Monster Workbench and modified them to fit my needs as I went along. If interested, I can certainly provide all the dimensions, etc.
