My kitchen drawer where I keep my silverware is pretty deep and wide. I was bothered by the plastic trays sliding around the drawer. I used some scrap 2×4s to keep things from sliding around but realized it was wasted space. So I had my 16-year old son make a box to fit in the spare space in the drawer. I decided not to stain the box, but just used spar varnish to coat the box.
We had just purchased a mini Kreg pocket hole jig and he made the pocket holes on the outside of the box. The result was a box that fits tight into the drawer and adds a lot of storage space.
