My Valentines Day gift for my wife this year.

The Quote is by French Poet Rosemonde Gerard.

I carved this using my Dremel with in the router base.
The wood is poplar, with a cherry stain. 5.5” by 10”

I started by printing the qoute from MS word, then I covered the board with blue painter’s tabe. I glued the paper to the tape. Next I carefully cut out the letters with an xacto knife, then just carefully carved out the letters.

That came out great. Thanks for sharing the details about how it’s done. I’m a big fan of “wood words”.

This is a nice sign. Thanks for the details on the process. I have been looking for an excuse to put a dremel on my wish list and this gives me one.

Thanks for the post.

Thanks all.

Yes the wife loved it. The longest part was cutting out the letters beforehand.
I’ve had my dremel for years, and this was the first major project I did with the router base, but not the last.

I used the little round engraving bit to do the carving (not the smallest they have I think 3/32).

If I had to do over again, I would have made it a bit larger, some of the curves on the letters were kind of tight.

Defeneitly not my last project of this type.

Well, I may have to steal your process. Since I “fixed” my wife’s computer last week I could use something for some fence-mending.
