Stool from g-pa’s balcony. Had to spend at least the last ten years in the elements and no telling what kind of abuse before then. Top was in four pieces and stamped underneath with Hallowell Standard Stamped Steel Jenkstown PA. The base was coated with a layer of surface rust but the structure was still intact. Striped primed &painted. Top glued back together, sanded out re-distressed slightly, stained for effect & BLO final finish.

Nicely put back together. Good that you could keep the original wood seat with it. Sure it has some stories to tell.

Nice save. I have refurbished a number of my grandfather’s tools and use them all the time. I hope you get to “set a spell” on this one for years to come. On another note, I have a number of older relatives and I hate to say what thoughts “Grandpa’s Stool” conjured…
