This is a bench that I made for my wife. It is made from recycled ash. Golden oak stain then poly.

This is a nice bench. I like the drawers incorporated into it for storage as well. Very nice.

I am sure that your wife enjoyed the gift. This is one way to “earn” some more shop time- after all how can she complain about the time you are spending in the shop when you create pieces like this.

Thanks for sharing.

Sweet! I’ll take one in teak for the patio.

Very nice! I really like benches with the drawers underneath, but often they seem to use pulls. I really like how you did those instead.

Me likeses ;)

Great job! Better not let my girlfriend see, she’ll be begging for me to build one, although it can only prove to strengthen the case that I need a table saw! :-D

I agree with jerryw, ash is often overlooked by most.

Very nice looking job, a great bench that greets people upon entry to your house. It welcomes them to sit down, take their shoes off and stay a while.

If you keep making projects like that you will certainly get the green light to add to your tool collection.

You really did a good job on this bench. It really fits into the spot you have it, too. Nice work.

We need a bench just like this in our front hall!! Did you work off plans?

No Chris. My wife found a picture of the bench online. It was some website that sold furniture and said that was exactly what she wanted. After searching for plans, I found some that were similar but she said “no”. So I took some height measurements from other benches and took some measurements in our entryway for length and started drawing it out.
