Vise clamps are the way to go to clamp stock on the drill press table since they are easy to use and the quick clamp action is fast.

To save the hassel of mounting them through the slots of the original metal drill press table I made this sub-base suited to set the vise clamps fast without unthreading the eye-bolt. The only thing to do is to loosen it and tighten it after inserting the vise clamp in one of the surrounding slots made in the sub-base.

That’s a good idea and looks like it will improve your work a lots. Those clamps have a lot of holding power.

Thanks for sharing this design. I really like the flexibility your design affords for the type of woods that I use. This is one I’m going to try.

Great idea!
I love those clamps, they are like to have a extra hand.
Clever way to use them.
