Alright so I haven’t posted anything on here for months so here it is. I finally landed a job and moved out of my parents home so I no longer have the luxury of walking out the door and having my numerous tools at my disposal. These treated rocking chairs we’re made using mostly powered hand tools. The joinery is all mortise and tennon (I forgot how much fun it was to carve them with a chisel). I plan to sell these on craigslist…

Very nice! What did you finish the chairs with? Did you follow a set of plans online, or just made your own design?

There isn’t any finish on them, I do believe that an oil finish of some sort would be good for these.

What I did was just measured some cheap rocking chairs from lowes and got the dimensions. I had the patterns for armrest and seat support from my cedar swing. The rocker pattern came from just holding a piece of MDF to a rocker and tracing it out.
