The cruise box

My family is supposed to go on a cruise next year. We decided(my wife decided) that if we have any spare paper money, we would just throw it in a jar for some extra spending cash. I thought that if we could see the money, we would more than likely use it. I also thought that if the money was easily accessible, we (my wife) would use it. With that in mind I made this box. I drilled a hole and made a walnut plug, which I attached an old drawer pull to. I screwed it shut, so we (my wife) wouldn’t be tempted to just open it and grab a dollar or two. Hopefully we have a good savings by next year.

Any feedback is appreciated (p.s: just kidding about the wife comments… kinda)

Thank you
Robert

Who has “spare paper money”? I used to save spare change until I started using a debit card, but never extra paper money!

Maybe you should make one to throw all your spare gold dabloons into Mr. Richy Rich!

I had a similar box. My wife bought a ferret and trained it to go into the hole and retrieve the money. Keep your wife away from the pet store.

Very nice. We have a cruise/honeymoon planned and are doing the same thing. Only I’m the one who looks at the money and goes hmmmm, I could use a buck. Might have to make one of these this weekend.

It’d never work here. I’d be the only one putting any money in. And in the end, she would just whip out her credit card anyway.

I used to work at a place that had a suggestion box like that. It was screwed shut with the kind of screws you see on toilet dividers at rest areas. They will tighten, but they will not loosen!
