Ice cream sandwich

So it has been a while since my daughter would come out and hang with me in the workshop (garage). This weekend, I was lucky. She likes to use my scraps in creative ways. She saw this I-beam looking cutoff from a bent lamination chair I am making and decided it would make a cool ice cream sandwich. She was right, She also made a sign, with her name, and painted the letters. I cut them out on the band saw, and she did the rest. I try to use a lot of hand tools when she is around, so she doesn’t get the idea that power tools are the only way to do things, they also improve my skills. We had a lot of fun, she also drilled the little holes for the sandwich using the drill press. It was a good weekend with a lovely 13 year old girl. I am really just posting this, cause I am proud of what she did, and to capture and share the time I had with her. To her, this was probably just another weekend, but to me it was a special time to share, and enjoy.
