This coffee table is a $10,000 table that the client somehow cracked the finish and not a single person would take on the job of refinishing it and she called 10 different companies and people.. the black line seen in the picture, was painted on at the time the table was made, the veneer in the center was ash burl, with a teak border..the black thin line was painted between the border and the primary center veneer and had to be repainted back on and the it was NOT a straight line but curved to follow the shape of the table.. this table was stripped down to raw veneer and built back up using a tone colored stain to shade it, followed by a shellac coat, then Post Cat conversion varnish which I had to let sit for several weeks to allow for solvent burn-off..
