Here’s the bevel ramp to accompany my recently finished shooting board. Again, inspiration came from Mot. I added a hook on the bottom to align square with the shooting board’s edge and when it’s pushed tight to the shooting board’s fence, I just have to add a quick clamp and it’s off to the races. I’m thinking about adding a threaded insert to the edge of the shooting board and running a threaded knob through the bevel ramp’s hook to alleviate the need for a clamp.

That’s a great way of doing it.

I think I would add a clamp at the back edge to keep the part from drooping and help keep it square.

That’ll add some usefulness to your shooting board. Good idea.

Looks like that’ll miter/bevel some really wide stock! How long did you build it? Looks to be at least as long as that 14” plane! I needed this jig last week – but of course didn’t make one!

I’ve tried making something like this before. No matter how hard I try, and no matter how perfect it seems when I build it, later on it seems off (not 45 o). How do you make the perfect angle that you can rely on?
