My daughter wanted a bigger bed so we picked up a mattress set and then it was on to the bedframe. I had a thousand ideas going through my head from looking at so many great looking beds on LJ’s. She initially wanted me to make her a Sleigh Bed so I eventually came back to that idea.
This is based on a plan from the Canadian Woodworking magazine with a twist or two. Choice of wood came down to Pine because I like the look of a Pine Sleigh Bed, plain and simple. The biggest difference in the plan came from the decision to use wainscoting in the headboard and footboard. It was supposed to be raised panels but I took a gamble on the look and I think it came out okay.
Some day I’ll add a picture of the bed with mattress set and made up but right now, her room is too messy. Kids!!
Thanks for looking….Don
