Lets play a little game here LJs. Some of the pieces of this bedroom set were exsiting antiques. Some of them I made to match the antiques. I’m putting my rep on the line to see how well I matched the set. In a few days I’ll get back on and spill the beans if no ones got it, so check back.
The set is mahogany. It really was a trick to stain match (infact I had to totally strip and refinish part of it because of a mismatch) as I refinished the existing pieces in a different stain. Restaining over an old stain always makes sort of a hybrid color thats tough to hit sometimes. Its kind of a federal style set. It was stained then finished with tung oil.
HAPPY PLAYING!

I’m going to say the bed because the grain in it seems a little less predictable than the other peices. Regardless I like the beautiful disturbance in the center of that arched board.

Let’s see…there’s the headboard, the left nightstand, the right nightstand, the dresser, and the mirror. Since you said “no dice” to the headboard, the left nightstand, and the dresser, it would have to be the right nightstand and/or the mirror.

Here it is, drum role please… I actually made everything, including the mirror, except the dresser. She had gotten the dresser years ago and had looked for year to find the rest of the set. I searched and searched for the matching hardware on the night stands and could find anything even close. Then my wife said, “isn’t that close to what’s on our dress in our bedroom?” I checked it out and not only was it close but it was an exsact match right down to the manufacture. Our dresser now has different hardware.

This set looks great. I have to laugh, I just did the same thing with my childhood set. Just finished the headboard this week and posted it today. It wasn’t as challenging as yours because mine was a simpler design.
