this is an end/side table that i built for my grandfather for christmas.. the table is contstructed from a $2.47 2×4 and a $6 1×4 pine from lowe’s, scrap cherry strips for drawer slide, and a scrap peice of veneer ply i found laying around. stained english chestnut with gloss poly on top.

That is a nice table. Since we had the 2×4 contest I have somewhat lost my amazement at what can be created from a simple 2×4. I will never look at construction lumber the same anymore. For less than $10 you have a really nice end table. I am sure your grandfather appreciated it.
Did you tell him what it actually cost? It really isn’t important. It is a gift from the heart and built with your two hands. In a word- priceless.
