I made this table for my little boy’s pre-school teacher, Miss Ann. She wanted a round table, about 22” tall, made of real wood. I made the top from some nice pine boards, and the base from SYP 2×12’s that I face-glued into 3×3 legs. All of the work was done by hand: mortises for the aprons hand chopped, tenons hand sawn, boards for the tabletop jointed by hand, and the circle rough cut and smoothed to shape with a spokeshave.

The base is painted with dark brown spray paint (my little boy helped!); the top got General Finishes Shaker Maple stain topped with amber shellac and varnish.

Very nice table. It must be a labor of love to do a project like this with only hand tools. I really like it.
