I built this Cherry cabinet for our utility room. We wanted to get rid of the old freestanding duratub and have a cabinet that matched the upper cabinets above the washer and dryer and the kitchen cabinets.
We had new granite counter tops installed in the kitchen and I had them cut a piece of granite for the utility room. After I had the top and sink, I built the cabinet to fit. I built the carcass out of 3/4” Cherry Plywood and the doors and face frame from solid cherry. Our existing cabinets were originally finished natural but have aged for many years so I had to play around with stain to get it to match Using a Varathane Cherry stain over Shelac and then clear poly over that, it matches perfectly. Unfortunately I lost all of the pictures from construction so all I have is these from the installation.

Very nice. I like the cherry and color. Granite in the laundry room is high class.

This is too nice of a cabinet to hide in the laundry room, I am jealous. I really like that you built it around the deep well sink. Great post. Thanks for sharing this but id my wife sees this I am sure she will want one in her laundry room.
