1st i’d like to thank frank for sending me the plans.
i cut the cirlcles out free hand, should have made a jig.
the crank is larger than the body,so,will not go all the way around if built to plan. i figured if it turned someone would in time break it,so instead of making it free i actually glued it in place hoping to solve that potential problem, then i used a finish washer trying to make it look like a true reel, not sure yet,if i like it or not.
i never liked button plugs so,i just plugged the holes with dowels and put two knobs on the crank.
i also bought the center holder.
was a fun way to use up some scraps.
-- may not always be right, but, never in doubt.

Looks Great and modifying the plans to your way of doing things kinda personalizes it. Great job.

Have your say...
