The second table I have made, unfortunately the council closed the building just after I made this in 2002 so it was the last thing I made just as I was getting more confident in using the tools.

Finished with oil, with the help of another student, the pictures don’t do the finish justice.
The American Black Walnut glowed with the light on it, the colour was stunning.

My interest in woodworking has been re-kindled as I start a wodcarving class next month, have already bought a set of Addis and some Hero brand gouges and the eighteen piece Pfeil set, time cannot fly fast enough at the moment.

Very nice table! The design is elegant. How did you attach the top to the base?

Small slots with wooden dogs. Was easy to do and allowed for movement of the top.
