I have been tearing apart more bowling lane to build some shop counters out of you end up with alot of short pieces…..

A friend at work asked if I could build a knife block so this seemed like a good application for those little scraps. Also re-sawed some Jatoba shorts to accent….

He didn’t give me the knives (only tracings) so hopefully they fit!

Thanks for looking.

Jeff

Nice knife block design! How did you attach the base to the block?

Amagineer – there are a pair of 3/8” dowels driven up thru the bottom.

Wonderful design and execution! The chamfered edges really set if off.

Wish I had some of that maple!

Great job Jeff. Fancy striped design.

That knife on photo 6 could be a chisel too.

I really like the knife block, but what caught my eye was the bench under the block. Wow!

Hey – thanks for all the comments!

exelectrician – thanks for the bench comment – it still isn’t finished, but there is a blog about it here.

Thanks!
