I know I’ve been on “shop-layoff” for too long.. :) This is a project that I actually started back in March.. yep, I’m s-l-o-w… Just had lotsa goins on it seems, and, well, it’s 99.9% done. I need 1 more coat of Minwax Satin Poly. It is 99% Maple, mortise/tenon, & box joinery, and I really like the way that curly/ribboning, or whatever you wanna call it comes out. I am going to make up a smaller/thinner cushion for the top. I think it might be just a bit too thick. What do ya’ll think?? I’ll appreciate all and any input, plus or minus. I’m game to good/bad/and ugly critics… lol thnx for lookin.

I assume the foot stool goes with something else, so the thickness of the cushion should reflect where it is going. It should also relate to comfort, I would think. Don’t think there is a right or wrong for the cushion thickness.

WoW! Based on how long it takes me to complete a project you are fast. :) I have some file cabinets in the shop in a state of incomplete for almost a year. I agree with Jim on the thickness of the cushion. What ever works so it is the most comfortable. I like the drawer idea.

Very nice projct, wish I had one just like it! The thick cushion is good for feet or sitting, and the drawer would make stool much more useful to me.

the photo presentation is also excellent depiction of construction. Thanks!

Hey Roger, that is really a sturdy design. Nice job on it. I like the idea of a drawer in a footstool, too.
Looks real comfy for your legs. Thanks for sharing!!
