Well, this is my first woodworking project. My wife wanted a side table for our living room so I decided to take the task on myself. For my first project I am pretty happy with my end result. I made only one big mistake and that was in the finishing stage. I was unaware that pine when stained without conditioning the wood prior would cause it to look so bad. ( I know a rookie mistake) After talking with my wife and matching it to the decor of our living room we decided black would acutally go best. So I primed over my stain and painted it black. Overall a great learing exprience and outcome.

Looks good. Looks like you have learned the first too lessons of a skilled woodworker 1) cut a straight line and 2) how to recover from a mistake.
