This toy box is built completely out of solid red oak. The veneer panels have a solid 3/4 oak substrate. All of the hardware except for the lid stay’s are solid brass. I do not know if it will show up well, but if you look closely on the picture with the lid open, you will see that the side panels have a mitered on the inside so that the panel is recessed on the outside, this miter allows you to see that the substrate is solid wood.
