Small bowl for brothers 50th anniversary

I found the wood in the weeds of my neighbors yard. There was two logs about 5 ft. long, I cut them up into bowl blanks and this piece fell off one of the blanks. It was ugly and rotten, had to ca glue the cracks while turning it.
I hope rest of them are better to turn. Have no idea what kind of wood.

I like the look of this piece ! One side view reminds me of an old nautilus shell ! This was a nice gift for a friend. Always pleased to see your posts. Your friend in havana don.s.

It has a natural “aged”look straight of the lathe :))
