This is a pair of wooden spoons my customer requested to match some she saw in a kitchen store. I had a pattern to trace and she wanted them to match in color to the mineral streak that was in the maple salad bowl I made for her last year. These are actually greener than in this photo. It is Birdseye maple with Mediterranean stain and three coats of salad bowl finish. They are 3 1/4 wide, 11 1/4 long and 3/4 thick. I am not a carver but I took this job on and at one time I thought I was going to give up when I got to doing the inside. I tried everything in had in Dremel tools and finally got it worked out.

Very nice work Jim! Very Nice!
I love the birds eye, really pretty!
I use my dremel for eveything, I too use whatever it takes.
I have people say why don’t you do it like this, I say (1) I don’t know how (2) this works so why change!
Great job and great way to keep pushing to see it through, now if I could just see it through to make the bentwood style rings hmm…..I better get off the computer and get to work! thanks for sharing.

Those look great, Jim.
I’ve been meaning to attempt a spoon carving for a while now. I guess that since my is broken down and in storage, now might be the best time.
