This cabinet for the kitchen I have been working on from time to time for about a year. There was so many other things that came in between.:-)
On top there is a granite stone called Verde Maritaca I’m not sure if the picture shows it but it is little bit green in the color.
The base and the doors are made of solid oak mostly from some oaks that a friend of mine cut down in his garden 10 years ago or so.
Cabinet it self is veneered with oak veneer and it is finished with a number of layers of Robin de-vax shellac.
In the glass doors I have sandblasted the glass so a picture of a tree is showed. I have done this by cover the glass with abrasive plastic that you use to protect schoolbooks and so on and then cut out the tree so the glass is exposed on those areas. Then I have just sandblasted the exposed area with a sandblast gun that you use for car repairs.
We have found that we need one more shelf in the cabinet so I going to order one small and one big glass shelf.
I think I made 5 prototype handle before I finally made these that I’m really happy with. I’m was so afraid that I would mess it up on the finnish line so I made four handle so I could fail on one without crying blood.
