Bench from old rope bed

Got and old rope bed at an auction for $15 and cleaned it up. I shortened the rails and put a wide pine seat on it. The rails were mortised and tenioned, so I had to redrill the tenions and doweled them. I left the rope strechers on as it gave it a antiques look. Stained and finished in english chestnut. I also applied a stain lacquer to soften the look. Can’t wait to find another bed. Most auction they are going for little or nothing.

Looks Great! should be more comfortable than a rope bed.
Only problem here is we don’t have rope beds in my area of the country.

Awesome! I love the rollerpress design on the headboard. That’s a bunch of wood for $15! Nice job.
