Starting to build a long overdue miter saw counter. Thanks to all the lumber jocks that have posted pics of their versions. This one is 16 feet long 27 inches deep and I can run out another 4 feet on the left side where I do most of my cutting. I copied a bit from nd2elk. Mine has support on the far wall but it will float of the floor like his. Brackets and bolts. I will cover it with blue laminate . After looking at every saw on the market I think I will go with the Bosch gcm12sd Awesome smooth and terminator like. I know there are a lot of posts on the web about problems with this saw (mostly damage from shipping) I checked it out. It solves my space Problem. I checked out every and I mean every video and write up on the Bosch and the Festool. It took weeks. I would go with the Bosch even if they were the same price. $719 is the best I’ve seen. In one pic you can see I left the saw support area short of the wall for some kind of dust collection. I’ll post pics as I go. Wings and saw are perfectly level and even. I forgot to make exceptions for the swing of the handle so I had to modify my plan as you can see. Also a nice bonus its a little quieter than my Dewalt. Bosch dosn’t tell you the close to the wall aspect of this saw is only good for miters not bevels you need another few inches or so to swing both ways. I have it set at 14 1/2 inches from wall to fence which is fine for miters then I slide out the saw support a bit to make the swing. I laminated a piece of formica to the wall which will be the start some kind of dust collecting hood.

Fantastic project !!
I can’t decide which thing I am most envious over …the tools, or the wall space you have available to commit to one tool !! LOL
Are you going to laminate everything ?
-- When did quiet and quite become the same word ? I'm guessing about the same time as your and you're did.

Very impressive. I was in the store yesterday and saw one of these saws for the first time! I fell in love!! compact space required, full reach, large blade! mmmmmm … keep us imformed on how good it works for you, I might just have to pick on up as well!
