I saw a Christmas ornament similar to this on the AAW website for the Florida Symposium and figure I would try it myself. It’s not the best but I have some ideas to make it better. This one was the first I tried so I know it wasn’t going to be great. Got some ideas to try on the next one.

I think you are on the right track… Great job for your first ornament. I have done some inside out turnings and think they are great fun. Keep trying!
Thanks for sharing

What peteg said: It was 104 yesterday in the mid-west. I’ve been wanting to try one of these. Way to get ahead of the game. I’m assuming you drill out the holes first? Very nice.

Thanks Porchfish.
Bsmith, its been hitting 100 here in central Florida. One thing I would say is make sure you get the holes drilled in the exact center of the block, if not it will turn out where one side of the ornament is thin and the other side is thick. I wanted to get a bunch made up.early so when I got to craft fairs I can have some ready to sell. And to answer your question, yes I drilled the holes before I turned it.
