While I am waiting for my planer to be repaired, I put this together. It is made from Sunken Cypress and Bolivian Rosewood sides. I pinned the sides with maple pegs. Finished it with salad bowl finish and mineral oil/beeswax. It measures 21×9 x 1 and is 2” height. I am not sure what it could be used for; bread slicer, serving tray? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Don

How a bout a really skinny/flat box?
A horizontal filing cabinet?
An entertainment center for someone with only one component?
A desk for a REALLY short person?
It’s really nice, whatever it will be used for! ;-)

Hmmm I have been thinking of making something very much like this for myself and my wife to use as lap desks. We like to sit in our easy chairs and do a bit of work or reading at night. It would be more comfortable than sitting at the big desk. I wouldn’t let anyone slice bread on a piece like this!
Anyway, if this is an example of the work you do just knocking around waiting for the planer to be fixed, I can only imagine what your normal stuff must be like!
