I can’t really say where my thoughts for this clock came from, I was just drawing and came up with this basic appearance, then let my building do the rest. It’s mostly oak and maple. The top part of the base is from a cigar box and I’m not sure what it is.

I like the over/under look. Very nice work.

It appears that there is no finish on there? Are you planning to leave it natural or put a something over the top?

Thank you!!!
I haven’t really decided whether to finish it or not, I’m still not really good at it yet so I tend to hesitate.

Placing the dial in the middle gives modern look.
I like the design. If I were you, I’d rather use more
natural colors of wood itself than using stain.

Those are the natural colors of the wood. It’s just got ‘natural’ stain to deepen the colors.

Very cool. I’ve been trying to come up with a design for a desk clock for my girlfriend but wasn’t getting there. I wouldn’t just steal your design out of respect, but now I know what direction to take!

Maybe just a coat or two of BLO or Tung Oil to make the grains pop and leave the top coat off.
