Here is a blanket chest that I made Penn style! Even though I did not have enough $ to make it full sized, it is still a nice size. It was about 20” wide. I was able to make it out of one long wide walnut board that I found. I made this almost entirey from hand tools. Hnan planed to size and thickness, hand dovetailed, even the drawers are half blind lipped dovetails which I hand cut as well. The finish is BLO and amber shellac that I cut myself. I cant wait to make another one.

THAT is a sweet chest in every way.

I have added to my favorites. I have to build a “hope chest” for a daughter. The drawers and furniture legs are a great touch that i might have to incorporate into her project. Thanks for posting your great project.

Nice Piece, Doing all the work by hand is a great accomplishment, bet Your arms and hands got sore a few times, I call it “becoming one with the wood” Beautiful wood and fine craftsmanship makes this a real keeper, thanks for sharing
