I haven’t posted anything in quite a while, but here is a pretty straight forward box I made a month or so ago. I hadn’t really used brass in anything before so I thought this turned out nice enough that I will likely use it again as an accent.
The box is hard maple with a mahogany and padauk lid. The splines are actually redwood. Other than the maple, these are all left over scraps from previous projects. I just couldn’t let that wood go to waste. I’m sure you all know what I mean.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for taking a look.

Nice box, good wood selection and great craftsmanship, caution boxes are addictive.

Wonderful looking box, the brass does make it special.

Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate it! TomD, I know about how addictive they can become, it seems like they are the majority of what I build now! :)

Not sure what I’m going to do with it. Probably a birthday or Christmas gift. I hadn’t been in the shop in a while and I wanted to just get back into working on something easy/comfortable.
