This is an 18” wall mounted knife block, I used purple heart, beech, earth magnets and glue to make this knife block.

Very nice piece. I like the contrast in your choice of woods.How thick are the beech plugs between the magnets and the surface of the block??Thanks for sharing.

thank you. The plugs are a 1/16th. I found that any thicker and you run in to problems with the magnet holding larger knives.

Thanks so much. I’ve seen this before on LJ’s and really like the idea. I’ll have to make one for the wife and you’ve saved me a good deal of time with that info.
