This is a custom project designed by a customer. It is a low loft with two bookcases, a dresser, and a bed on the bottom. The lower bed will not be used right away they wanted to have more play space. They wanted to purchase it and store it way so that everything will match in the future.

The handles were supplied by the customer. It was completed in June 2011

WOW! It’s a loft bed that’s been chopped and channelled. I really like the low headspace of the lower bed. I’m a big fan of small spaces and that’s a sweet design. Small . . . I think realtors call that cozy. ;)

It must be nice getting a drawing with this level of detail from a customer. I can only imagine how some of the conversations must go.

Customer (showing a drawing to Chris): Can you build this?
Chris (looking like a deer in the headlights): Uhhhhh . . . what is it?

Whit

You hit the nail on the head. I like your “chopped and channelled”. I should rename it “Chopped and Channelled Loft”. Thanks for your great wit, Whit!
