I needed a chisel mallet. This one was inspired from an article on www.wkfinetools.com. Everything here is recycled wood.

Mallet head is Maple.

The handle is from a broken pallet that arrived from Central America. I originally thought the wood was Ipe. After turning, I am pretty sure it is Mahogany.

Drillled 7/8” through hole in head blank. Turned a tight fitting tennon on the handle.

Now that is really neat. You must have used two centers in the ends. I’ll have to try that. It came out really cool!
