My first box project

This box, simple as it is, was my very first box project of any sort. It is made of white pine with a hard maple top and handle. I made it for my wife as a proof that I could do something useful with the new table saw. It has become the junk box for the living room but I’m not complaining. I’m actually pleased with the way it came out.

I think that is a wonderful and great job for the first time. I practiced on bird houses first.

Gary, thanks for the ecouragement. The wife laughingly says she’s convinced!

Arlin. I did do a bird house before the box. I will not show you the bird house… let’s just say that birds are obviously not critics of woodworking, otherwise they’d steer clear of that house…. Thanks for the the kindness!

That’s a great box. Good that it is already useful in a place that your wife sees every day.

Thanks Toot & Tim. I do expect her to take a bigger interest in my craft. :-)
