I have been turning alot of tops and I came across a chuck of firewood that I decided to make a big top out of it. The top is walnut and poplar and it is 6” in diameter with a 1 1/4” dowel down the center. I put a quarter a regular size top in the photo for comparison. The small top is redheart.

Are they spun by hand? The mass of the large one makes me think it would go for a long time while the little one skitters around it. Nice work.

Hey buddy! The shop is not a place to have “fun”! Pay attention before you cut your face off!

Very nice looking ….BUT looks like a challenge for the smallest top
-- I cut it three times and it's still too short
Have your say...
