I read the article and I am impressed with your generosity. Nothing better than doing things for and with kids. The potato idea is a good way to develop your skill at carving cause it is easy to carve and cheap.

Great piece of work. Love the bench idea.
Did you do anything to keep the water from collecting in the seat? Or, is it just that I can’t see it?

it has drains you cant see .and 5 coats of marine spar to seal it…................will last a few years even with kids
