For christmas I took an ugly table my wife bought and refinished it and replaced the ugly ceramic tile inlay it had and replaced it with this marquetry design. If you look you can see my last name “DUNN” worked into the pattern. When I took the pictures I had not yet glued it in place. Enjoy.

I like it. You inlay work is really nice. Feels good to revive an old piece of furniture and give it new life.

Thank you, it is my first attempt at marquetry. I did the whole thing with an xacto knife at my desk.

Very nice. I really enjoy refinishing furniture. It never ceases to amaze me at what you can find hidden beneath alligatored and blackened finishes. You did a good job from what I can see. The inlay adds a very special touch to the piece. I don’t care whether this is a first time attempt or you are a pro, this marquetry is really good. I am sure that your wife was pleased with the project.

You did an awesome job for a first attempt. I took a marquetry class at last years woodworking show and we had only time to do a small coaster…mine looked like a 3yr old did it LMAO. It is not an easy thing to do so I can appreciate all you did. Great job.

I’ve never been very impressed with all caps writing, in wild fonts. It make it very hard to read.

But, saying that I’m impressed with the job. A nice layout of your veners.
