I had to have a bench for my new shop so I slammed this thing together one day. It is actually pretty strong.
I added the Front vise the other day. I need to make some adjustments to the vise and put a hardwood top on it. It features a shelf below to store frequently used tools and it has a dropped opening for my miter saw. the saw can be pulled out in a matter of seconds to take on jobsites or I can a a leaf if I need a whole bench.

It is constructed with strong ties, deck screws and glue. I’ll add more accessories as needed.

I don’t want to be the bad guy. But that not a work bench its a storage shelf. You can’t work on that. I know you can do better and you have a space problem, first build shelfs so you can store all the material thats on your work bench. Than finish it as you note with a hard smooth top. You will be more than happy to work on you bench. I’ve looked at your projects and your a great craftmen, put a little more time on this bench and you’ll love working on it.

I started a new knockdown assembly bench today, this thing will set up in less than a minute and be as solid as a rock! I’ll keep you posted when I’m ready to display it.

That looks like my workbench, a functionable table that looks like it belongs in the shop, not the dining room.
