A buddy of mine wanted a cool dog house for his boxer. It’s all just treated ply and 1x’s, except for some 1/4” oak ply on the top of the front, and the hackberry turned pieces on the sides. Since this wasn’t a high budget project, I couldn’t spend toooo much time making sure all joints were perfect, nor that everything was sanded just right. I was way more focused on the overall form. I would love to make some more, of far better quality, cause they are really just miniature houses and I could make them look really nice….but, I’d have to have a buyer, lol.

Everything is just stained, red mahog and walnut, except for the plywood arch decoration, it just has blo on it. The front looks the way it does cause I wanted to accentuate the knots in the base plywood for some reason…..and the oak ply was necessary to bring the 1/2” ply to the same level as the 3/4 boards. Anyways, I know it’s weird, but what do ya’ll think?

Cute Doghouse, Dave, well done! A lot better than the one I made for my dog. I converted a shipping crate by adding a roof and siding on it! :D

i dont think its weird at all, very cool, i love dogs and if there going to have an outside domain, it should have some class to it, you did very well…yea, wouldnt it be great to have buyers for more…ive often thought of doing one for my gal, but she really doesnt need it, but great job here…
